How do you know what’s working on social media and what’s not working?

It can be hard to stand out from the enormous amount of content posted on social media every day. Imagine having a framework that points out the important information about your social media performance. You can use this information to identify successful posts and learn why they worked well for your audience.

1. Create quick reports with spreadsheets
One of the tips is to export data from your social media accounts. It is easy to download a .csv file and open it up in Microsoft Excel. From here, you can easily analyze your data by scanning and looking for trends and rates.

2. Set benchmarks for your performance
To find out if your posts on social media did well, you can create benchmarks. Go into your .csv file, and look for the amount of likes on each post, for example. Take the average of that number and that is your benchmark. To make the benchmark a little more aspirational, you can multiply that benchmark by 1.5.
